PPL licensing authority challenged — SC case pending
Delhi High Court Division Bench (Apr 2025) ruled PPL cannot issue licenses as it is not a registered copyright society, directing it to join RMPL. PPL appealed to the Supreme Court. The SC stayed the Delhi HC direction in Apr 2025 — PPL is currently operating normally pending final SC hearing. This affects all 450+ PPL member labels. Check this page for updates.
